Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

At what pace do you run? I’m worried that I’m too slow!

For trail runs, it’s hard to give an exact pace since pace can vary greatly depending on the route: some routes are have more vertical gain and we’ll move a little slower whereas some routes are flatter and we might move more quickly. What matters is that our runs are no-drop, meaning we won’t leave anyone behind. Run leads will stop periodically and at forks in the trail to make sure everyone knows where they’re going. Some runs will even have sweeps, which are people who intentionally stay behind with the last runner. Generally, if you feel like you’re able to run the downhill and flat sections and hike the uphills, you’ll do great on our group runs!

Do I need to bring anything to a group run?

Just a pair of running shoes (preferably trail running shoes), running clothes that you feel comfortable in, and water! Depending on the time of year, you may also need to bring a headlamp. If you don’t have trail running shoes, normal road running shoes will usually be okay - just be extra careful on descents and rocky terrain!

What can I expect from a group run?

Before the run, we’ll gather at the trailhead, share names, and welcome any first timers! Then the run lead will take us on the route. We’ll stop periodically and at turning points to make sure no one is left behind. Some runs will also have sweeps, people who stay behind with the last person on the route. After the run, we’ll usually gather with some beverages and snacks to socialize and get to know each other!

Do you ever have any group runs on the weekends?

As of right now, we don’t have any scheduled group runs on the weekends. However, many ladies post about open-invite weekend running plans on our Facebook group!
